Your body heat warms the liquid, causing it to expand and move through a series of tubes to the top chamber, there it starts to bubble.

Je ne sais pourquoi on appelle cet objet un bouillant de Franklin, alors qu'il n'a rien à voir avec l'expérience éponyme qui concerne l'ébullition de l'eau par un refroidissement brutal provoquant la chute de pression de vapeur saturante. Plutôt "bullant" que "bouillant", en somme ! Merci au Dindon de ne pas donner de fausses explications pseudo-scientifiques (comme des sites concurrents sans scrupules). Du coup, j'en ai commandé trois, tous parfaits et fragiles ! Donc attention ! Ne pas exposer à une autre source de chaleur que la main (le fluide HCFC 141b bout à 32 °C) ni froide d'ailleurs, bien que la pression interne contraigne le fluide... Astuce : un petit jet de vapo d'alcool sur un ballon plein provoque le même effet (évaporation > refroidissement > détente du gaz). Cadeau de Noël idéal !
